The National Museum of Art of Romania hosts three art galleries and has a short, but impressive royal past. The European Art Gallery, the Romanian Medieval Art Gallery and the Romanian Modern Art Gallery bring together art works exhibited in an attractive, modern manner, thus turning a visit to the museum into an enjoyable and instructive way of spending time.
Founded in 1978, the Art Collections Museum, a branch of the National Art Museum, houses private collections donated over the course of time. Collections include European as well as Oriental art works.
Opening hours: Wednesday to Sunday
11.00 a.m. – 19.00 p.m. (May – September)
10.00 a.m. – 18.00 p.m. (October – April)
Closed: Monday, Tuesday, 1st and 2nd of January, the first and the second day of Easter, the first and the second day of Pentecost, 1 May, the 15th of August, 1, 25 and 26 December
The ticket desks and the museum shop close 30 min. prior to the closing of the museum.

The museum offers guided tours in Romanian, English and French for groups of up to 25 persons. Advance booking (3 days) is required.

Photography and video recording:
Photography and video recording are allowed for private purposes only. No flash and/or tripods can be used.
